How does a yes or no tarot reading work?
Type your question, then pick one of the 22 face-down cards. The deck only holds the major arcana, the most powerful cards in tarot, from The Fool to The World.
Each card carries an answer: yes, no or maybe. The card is drawn at random and can come out upright or reversed.
Which tarot cards mean yes?
Bright, forward-moving cards point to yes: The Sun, The Star, The World, The Chariot, Wheel of Fortune, The Lovers, The Magician and The Empress. The Fool also says yes, but to a leap of faith.
Which tarot cards mean no?
Four cards answer no: The Tower for sudden upheaval, The Devil for a trap, The Moon for illusion and Death, which closes a chapter.
The maybe cards ask you to wait: The High Priestess, The Hermit, Justice and The Hanged Man.
Upright or reversed: what changes?
An upright card gives its full answer. Reversed, its message weakens: a yes turns into a maybe and a maybe turns into a no. About one card in three comes out reversed.
Which tarot deck do we use?
The cards come from the famous Rider-Waite deck, first published in London in 1909. The artwork is by Pamela Colman Smith, working with the occultist Arthur Edward Waite. These images are now in the public domain.
Prefer a straight answer? Try the yes or no oracle with the crystal ball.
Is a free yes or no tarot reading accurate?
Like any online divination tool, the draw is random. It is meant for fun and reflection, not as professional advice.
